Thalia or JLO Could Play Estefan in Bway via @ajelkallejero

halía might be heading to Broadway to be involved in some serious Conga action.

The Mexican singer is in talks to portray Gloria Estefan on the Great White Way, entertainment publication TV Notas is reporting.

As Fox News Latino reported in early February, the Estefans announced that they’ve teamed up with the Nederlander Organization to try to create a musical based on their lives. Their hope is that it would end up in Broadway.

According to the magazine, the Estefans want to offer Thalía the lead role of Gloria in the show that is set to be named “Do That Conga” and will begin as the Estefans left Cuba and came to the United States.

Besides the “Amor a la Mexicana” singer, others in the running include Jennifer Lopez and Fanny Lú. The artists being considered to play Emilio Estefan include Chayanne, Carlos Ponce and William Levy.

Thalía, who is married to music executive Tommy Mottola, has not confirmed or denied her involvement in the show.

The Estefans were beyond excited when making the announcement three weeks ago.

“We are very excited to share this story, which is based on hope, determination and the belief that with hard work and passion, our dreams can become our reality. Our music has been a true reflection of who we are, where we came from and the journey that has brought us to where we are today,” Gloria and Emilio Estefan said in a statement.

The Nederlander Organization will be producing the new show in partnership with Bernie Yuman, who produced and managed Siegfried & Roy’s show in Las Vegas.

The show is still in its embryonic form and has no writer, director or creative team yet.
